All seven Institutions have a proved track-record in providing higher education and training in the field of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology, as can be gathered from a visit to their respective websites, indicated above.
Further, all members of the Consortium have a high-profile international reputation and already have well established channels of communication with third-countries to promote existing Masters and PhD programmes, and are used to taking on such students. All participant institutions also have ongoing sabbatical programmes for exchange of staff, with academic visitors coming from all over the World.
More significantly, Pavia-ROSE, the coordinator of the current proposal, already runs a Masters and a Doctorate programme in the field of Earthquake Engineering featuring a teaching body that relies on relatively short visits by 50 internationally recognised scholars with extremely high qualification, half of which originate from non-European countries (see www.roseschool.it).
