The minimum requirement in order to apply for the MEEES programme is a University Degree, or past professional experience, in Civil Engineering.
Admission to the course depends on academic qualifications, past professional experience and English proficiency, all of which should be included in the online submission procedure described here.
During the online application procedure the applicant will also be asked to indicate the name and email address of three referees. The online system will automatically contact these referees in order to obtain the reference letters. The applicant may enter the system at any time to check whether the reference letters have been submitted and they can send a single automatic reminder to each of the referees if the letters have not been submitted by the deadline.
Through the online application procedure, applicants must provide electronic copies of the following documents:
- academic certificates
- curriculum vitae
-
English language certificate (see below)
Note that the degree certificate should explicitly indicate followed modules and marks obtained and, if the documents are not written in English, a translation of their contents is requested.
Please note that all attached documents will be deleted from our server each year at the end of the selection procedure (except for those applicants who are accepted as students to the MEEES programme).
With regards to English proficiency, applicants are asked to submit any documents that attest that they possess an adequate command of the English language. Such documents may consist of:
- a score of at least 88 (internet-based exam), 230 (computer-based exam), 570 (paper-based exam) in the TOEFL test
- a score of 6 or more obtained with IELTS
- a degree obtained in an English speaking environment
- other test scores that may be regarded as equivalent to those listed above.
If an applicant is admitted to the programme, they will be asked to send to the MEEES Secretariat by post original copies of the aforementioned documents.
When required, the applicant, or indicated referees, may be contacted with a view to obtain further information. As a general rule, applicants will not be interviewed.
Finally, it is noted that the Plan of Studies chosen by the applicant will also be subjected to the scrutiny of the MEEES Applications Assessment Board. In cases where a Plan of Studies is for some reason considered inadequate, acceptance of a given application will be made under the condition that the necessary adjustments will then be introduced to the proposed Plan of Studies.
